Meghan and her husband Paul, along with their children, have lived in Port Moody for almost 30 years. One of the longest serving council members in Port Moody history, Meghan was first elected to council in 1996. In addition to serving her community as a City Councillor, Meghan is a community volunteer and has numerous interests and accomplishments, including world travel, dog sports, hiking and cycling.

Community engagement and volunteering has always been a big part of Meghan's life. In her early life, Meghan  volunteered at the Vancouver Neighbourhood House Association,  Vancouver Food Bank,  Greenpeace and Habitat For Humanity. As a youth mentor, Meghan worked with Girl Guides of Canada for over 18 years, serving as a leader in Sparks, Brownies, Guides, Pathfinders and Senior Branch, as well as serving as the District Commissioner for six years. She also formed a Duke of Edinburgh Award group, which included both male and female youth, assisting many of the participants in achieving their Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Meghan loves all things creative and is a musician and artist who enjoys  working with ceramics, quilting, writing poetry and party planning;  over the years she has enjoyed playing a variety of instruments including the tenor drums, saxophone, flute and piano. She is also an accomplished gourmet cook and baker, who owns her own restaurant - Sweet and Savoury Pie Company - which was voted one of the best pie shops in Vancouver in 2017.

Meghan worked as an audiometric technician as well as a hearing aid specialist for several years, prior to changing careers and becoming a college instructor in 2000.

Meghan spent over 16 years working in post-secondary education as an educator, College Director and Provincial Director, for a large private post-secondary institution. During that time, she developed her skills as a regional manager, overseeing several business entities and having been responsible for more than a hundred employees along with several budgets worth millions of dollars.

In 2016, Meghan made the decision to follow her passion, and opened her own business - Sweet and Savoury Pie Company in Vancouver. Running a small business has been a rewarding and challenging experience for her.

Meghan's experiences overseeing a multimillion dollar operation, and managing a large group of employees, coupled with her experience as a small business owner, provide her with a unique understanding of business and finances.
